Borderlands 2 Announced

Borderlands 2

Today 2k Games and Gearbox Software officially announced the release of Borderlands 2 the sequel to the critically acclaimed Borderlands from 2009.

Borderlands 2 will have the player taking control over a new string of characters, using all new weapons, and exploring completely new environments to the game. This won't be all that's new with Borderlands 2 becoming host to new enemies and skills to fend off the waves of psychopaths. The sequel is also looking to expand upon the mysteries of the Borderland universe which, for the most part, were left undiscovered in the previous installment. Nothing specific has been released to the public outside of the cover of the September edition of Game Informer

For those looking to get an early peak at Borderlands 2 though, Gearbox will be showing off the game at Gamescom 2011 from August 17 – August 21, and at PAX Prime (Booth #3417) from August 26 – August 28.

Borderlands 2 is currently slated for released sometime next year.

Valve has announced that a song from the band The National will be featured in their upcoming game Portal 2.

Portal 2 is the sequel to Valve's 2007 award winning physics based puzzler.

Chet Faliszek, a writer at Valve, stated "For Portal 2, we wanted to extend the use of music. When Bug Music mentioned to us that The National might be interested, we jumped at the opportunity to work with them." It will definitely be interesting to hear a song from a well known band in Portal 2.

Portal 2 is slated to be released worldwide the week of April 18 for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, PC and Mac.
