Xbox Reveal

Following rampant speculation, it is now official: the new Xbox, codenamed Durango, is set to be revealed Tuesday, May 21st. As announced on Major Nelson's Blog, the upcoming console will be formally unveiled at the Xbox Campus in Redmond at a special press event, which will also be livesteamed on, as well as Xbox Live and Spike TV.

Larry Hyrb, Xbox Live's Major Nelson, had this to say of the upcoming big reveal:

On Tuesday May 21st, we’ll mark the beginning of a new generation of games, TV and entertainment. On that day, we’ll be holding a special press event on the Xbox campus and we invite you to join us via the live global stream that will be available on, Xbox LIVE and broadcast on Spike TV if you are in the US or Canada.

On that day, we’ll share our vision for Xbox, and give you a real taste of the future. Then, 19-days later at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles, we’ll continue the conversation and showcase our full lineup of blockbuster games.

We are thrilled to pull back the curtain and reveal what we’ve been working on.

Hungry? Pizza Hut is Coming to an Xbox Near You

Pizza Hut on Xbox

In a move sure to please many a hungry gamer, Xbox and Pizza Hut have announced a new, freely available app for the Xbox 360. This first of its kind new app will be available later today (Wednesday), and provides full menu access and online ordering, right from the convenience of your own couch. Leveraging Kinect for hand gestures and voice command, the pizza hut app aims to make the ordering process easy and fun for its users. Upon first time setup, users will be prompted to create or sign into an existing Pizza Hut online account. Once created, it will list the nearest Pizza Hut restaurants from the user, and based on the location selected, will generate the appropriate menu. As menus are generated in real time, any local online specials/coupons that would normally be available via the website should also apply to the app as well.

Nintendo Direct Reveals A Link to the Past Sequel and Earthbound for Virtual Console

A Link to the Past 2

As has become their traditional vehicle for release news, Nintendo broadcast a new Direct video this morning, showcasing a number of upcoming products (most for the 3DS), including several previously unanounced titles. After a series of not-so-subtle hints from series creator Shigeru Miyamoto over the past year, a 2.5D follow-up to The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past was unveiled for the 3DS. Set to be released this holiday, this sequel will retain familiar mechanics from the SNES classic, with the notable addition of the ability for the player to change Link into a drawing to traverse otherwise unreachable corners. An official name has not yet been specifed as of this writing, but expect to hear further details soon.
